Essential oils are extracted from plants using an alemic (distillation tool) to distill the plant material into a smoke that is gathered into a tube where it is condensed and drips into a collection vessel.

Once the steam touches the smoke material all the volitile compounds within it are volatized into a gentle smoke which passes through a coil. The next stage is to condense this until it retains the liquid state.  This liquid state is the natural nutrients and the essence of the plant either being distilled or cold pressed.

Essential oils prevent the transmission of pathogenic elements, and has been used to manage the spread of candida (yeast), staphalococcus and streptococcus, common pathogens for skin and throat infections. They are uses as decongestants, expectorants, local anesthetics, anti-tussives and many other uses are known as an alternative to conventional medications. I will be adding a table of the most common uses of essential oils.

After reading several articles on hemp to see the benifits and side effects of use I had to look deeper into this amazing product for my own benifits. As a Registered Nurse and a background in environmental biology, as well as medical labratory technition I was quite impressed with the research of Allison King, who has a PhD in Biology, a minor in physics, and specializes in cell bilogy as well as has a biochem degree. Here is what I learned.  Hemp naturally and safely provides pain relief, protects the brain, protects the heart and blood vessels, improves brain functions, and eases moos dysregulation, improves skin and reduces inflammation, and has also been shown to slow the progression of Alzheimers disease, Parkensons disease, and heart disease.

Hemp oils is obtained by coldpressing ripe hemp seeds, the extract contains cannabinoids, phenolic compounds, phytochemicals like terpenes, is rich in Omega 3, 6, and 9 fatty acids, as well as, anti-oxidants, magnesium, potassium, zinc and vitamin E.

Because of the Omegga fatty acid content and vitamin E, it can improve cognitive functining, enhance memory, acts as a neuro-protectie agent, balances cholesterol by reducing bad cholesterol (LDL) and increasing good cholesterol (HDL), inhibits clot formation, and decreases resting blood pressure.

The cannabinoids ease pain, anxiety, depression and is used to decrease fits in epilepsy syndromes.

Hemp seeds contain high amounts of the amino acid arginine.  Arginine produces nitric oxide, which is a gas molecule that makes blood vessels dialate and relax leading to lower blood pressure and reduced risk of heart disease. Studies have shown increased argenine intake corresponds with a decreased c- reactive protien (CRP).  CRP is an inflammation marker in clinical labratories and have been linked to heart disease.

Skin benifits from all of above: relieves dry skin, reduces acne by reducing inflammation and excess oil and calms eczema.

Other benifits would be to reduce symptoms of PMS which is thought to be caused by a sensitivity to our natural hormone prolactin.  The Gamma Linolenic Acid (GLA) in hemp reduces the effects of prolactin by producing prostaglandin E1.

In short, healing properties of hemp are non-psychoactive, neuro-protective, anti-convulsant, antioxidant, anti-psychotic, and anti-inflammatory jwith little to no side effects.
